Its always fun to cater a Maui wedding reception and even more exciting when we get to cater the welcome guest dinner as well as a day after wedding brunch. Catering three separate events over three days provides plenty of opportunity for the couple getting married and their wedding guests to get to know the chef and catering staff. Over three days in early June, we provided 3 separate catered events including an elegant wedding for a delightful couple from LA who decided they would be getting married on Maui a year earlier. Keep reading for details of these Maui catered events, including the menu for the rehearsal dinner; the wedding reception menu and the day after wedding brunch.
While were awaiting the wedding photographer for wedding photos you may view a few images of this Olowalu Plantation House wedding setup below and in our recent article about renting a chuppah on Maui. Both the bride and groom to be were immersed in their wedding planing throughout the year we worked with them. While some of the 75 guests were from the Los Angeles area, others wedding attendees traveled from Hong Kong to celebrate this beautiful wedding on Maui. The Olowalu Plantation House served as the wedding venue in West Maui while the rehearsal dinner and day after wedding brunch were held at a private estate vacation rental in Laniupoko, only a few minutes driving time to nearby Olowalu. Everyone had lots of fun and I personally enjoyed working with this wedding couple very much. When you cater 3 events over 3 days, you really get to develop a personal rapport with most attendees and get to know the couple getting married.
Affordable Weddings on Maui
Though we served as the local wedding coordinator on Maui, the bride and groom added many of their own personal touches and worked diligently selecting their preferred local wedding service providers. The couple added many wedding decorations of their own and did a bit of the legwork themselves, including purchasing their own alcohol for the catered events. Accordingly, the couples involvement and do it yourself wedding planning efforts not only saved them the fees of a dedicated full service wedding coordinator, their efforts allowed the bride and groom to get the most out of their wedding budget to include a delicious catered wedding rehearsal dinner and a day after wedding brunch. The reception featured several live wedding food stations (some call these chef action stations) with live cooking, giving us even more opportunity to interact with wedding attendees. Check out the catering menus below for all the details and then find out how to plan an affordable wedding on Maui or request a no obligation estimate for your own destination wedding.
